The Enforcement Directorate (ED) recently questioned Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal‘s private secretary, Bibhav Kumar, and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Durgesh Pathak in connection with the excise policy case. This move comes as new facts have surfaced in the case, filed under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
Bibhav Kumar, a longstanding member of AAP and considered close to the CM, was reportedly questioned about Kejriwal’s engagements. He is one of five individuals allowed to visit Kejriwal in prison, indicating his proximity to the CM.
The ED’s chargesheet alleged that 36 accused, including Kumar and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, were involved in destroying, using, or changing 170 phones to conceal evidence of kickbacks worth crores in the now-scrapped excise policy. Kumar and Pathak have previously been questioned by the ED in this case.
The ED’s intensified investigation suggests a deepening probe into the alleged irregularities surrounding the excise policy. The questioning of key individuals like Kumar and Pathak indicates a significant development in the case and highlights the ED’s efforts to unearth the truth behind the alleged kickbacks.
